My film editing experience was primarily fueled through TCU's post-production class. Students learned Avid software through insturctor-driven tutorials at the beginning of the semester and then were given clips from the TV show "24" to edit however they saw fit. This was my first editing project, and required the use of picture-in-picture.

 

While at Red Productions, I had been asked to perform small editing tasks using Adobe Premiere.  Questions were encouraged so I was able to quickly become familiar with the software.  Editing projects included: the Fort Worth Admin Awards intro video, which was composed of videos sent in from local businesses that would have representatives attending the ceremony, and selecting clips for a highlight reel.  I also practiced my skills by re-editing a commercial that the company had recently released.  I had access to the original footage and was given feedback on the creative choices I made.  

 

Now, I feel comfortable editing on my own using either Avid or Premiere.
